Product Description
Explanation of Jigs and Fixtures for Furnaces
Jigs and fixtures are tools used inside industrial ovens and furnaces to do manufacturing, heat treatment, tempering, carburizing, hardening processes to hold, support, or position a workpiece to improve efficiency, accuracy, and safety during operations.
In the context of furnaces, jigs and fixtures are used for:
1. Holding workpieces inside the furnace
– For example, during heat treatment, parts need to be held in a specific position to ensure even heating and prevent distortion.
2. Improving heat flow efficiency
– Fixtures are designed to allow heat (or gas) to flow evenly around the workpiece.
3. Preventing deformation
– Some metals warp when heated. Fixtures keep them stable and in shape during the process.
4. Supporting automation processes
– In modern industrial furnaces, fixtures can also assist in robotic handling or conveyor systems.
